Who we are
Build Young LLC is a Washington limited liability company offering live online programs and a learning dashboard. Contact: team@build-young.com.
Age and enrollment
Our programs are for ages 13 and older; professional enrollment is for adults. We ask for an age group, not a birth date, before accepting information in student-facing inquiry and enrollment forms. A parent or guardian completes student enrollment and confirms eligibility. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Contact us if this has happened so we can investigate and delete it. These controls are not a consent process for enrolling children under 13.
Information we collect
Enrollment collects a participant's name or chosen display name, account email, cohort, age group, and guardian and terms confirmations. Scholarships also collect a written application. Inquiries collect email and the question, schedule/timezone preference, or professional/organization details you submit. Accounts contain password hashes and saved learning/project work. Showcases can contain product/video links, feedback, and permission requests. We do not ask for medical information. Do not submit sensitive personal or customer information in exercises.
Payments
Stripe processes card information; we do not store full card numbers. We retain enrollment declarations and records needed to administer payments and refunds. Paid checkouts without verifiable enrollment confirmations are held for review before account provisioning. Operational enrollment/application counts are separate from optional browsing analytics.
Uses and email
We use information to deliver programs and accounts, save learning work, respond to inquiries, administer payments/refunds, and send necessary class and account messages. Requested cohort announcements are marketing messages with an unsubscribe link and business postal address. Unsubscribing does not stop necessary account, payment, or class-service messages.
Optional analytics and privacy signals
Optional analytics are off until an eligible visitor opts in through Privacy choices; the site works without them. Change your choice at any time. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable optional analytics. If allowed, Vercel Web Analytics and first-party events measure public pages/screens, referrer host, device/browser characteristics, dwell time, a random per-tab identifier, and approximate country or U.S. state. Account, admin, enrollment, password pages and URLs with query parameters are excluded. We do not use session replay or record keystrokes. Essential authentication and privacy-choice storage work without optional analytics.
AI-assisted practice
Advanced practice is generated locally by default. If an enrolled user separately selects the AI option, up to six short funnel-stage labels are sent to Anthropic's API for practice data and explanations. Account name/email, reflection notes, and customer metrics are not included. Labels must not contain personal or confidential information. AI output is labeled and can be inaccurate; verify it with your instructor. Build Young does not train its own AI models using learning data. Provider processing is governed by its applicable service terms.
Providers and external sites
We use Vercel for hosting, Upstash/Redis for storage, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, and Anthropic for the optional AI request. External scheduling and class tools, such as Calendly and Zoom where configured, have their own privacy policies. Product/video links can lead to third-party sites. Providers may process information outside your country. Fonts are served by our website, not Google Fonts.
Showcases
Submissions are private until a founder reviews and approves them. A checkbox does not authorize automatic publication. Written permission from an adult participant or student's parent/guardian must be documented before public/promotional use. Approved testimonials may display a chosen name, feedback, and product link, not the account email, cohort, approval record, or permission reference. Contact us to request removal or withdraw permission.
Choices and requests
We do not sell or rent personal information or share it for third-party targeted advertising. Request access, correction, deletion, or removal at team@build-young.com; we may verify your identity or authority as guardian. Email unsubscribe links stop marketing announcements; we keep suppression records to honor the choice. Copyright/removal instructions are at /copyright.html.
Retention and security
We retain records as needed for program delivery, accounts, recordkeeping obligations, and disputes; we have not set one fixed retention period for every learning or inquiry record. Checkout confirmations expire after seven days; paid enrollment declarations are retained with enrollment. Contact us for deletion. Access controls, server-side secrets, signed sessions, and restricted publication help protect data, but no system is guaranteed secure.
